Last Friday, May 17th, the IFGW/Unicamp Auditorium hosted the Entrepreneurial: Lunch & Learn 2024, a dynamic and inspiring meeting aimed at introducing the second edition of the LIF Empreende Program to potential new participants from undergraduate and graduate programs.

After the opening of the event, participants received individual lunch boxes and enjoyed their meal while Prof. Dr. Newton Frateschi discussed the science of photonics and its applications both in the market and in everyday life, prompting reflections on the role of innovation in entrepreneurship within the academic context as well.

Next, an activity led by Frateschi allowed attendees to delve deeper into the Lean Canvas methodology, an essential tool for the efficient and facilitated development of business models, emphasizing the importance of reflection and adaptation in the constantly evolving business world.

The event also featured inspiring testimonials; Marcela, a member of the NIT/Mandic team, winners in the popular vote category, and Leonardo, from 3S Health, the team that won the Best Business Model category, shared with participants a bit about the journey they built with the Program.

Additionally, Fabrício, an undergraduate Physics student and Scientific Initiation researcher under Newton’s guidance, provided his unique perspective on the opportunities offered by working with the Laboratory as a LIF/Sisfóton scholarship recipient.

After the testimonials, Carla Sampaio concluded the event with a more detailed presentation of the LIF Empreende Program: its mission, how it works, the schedule, and other essential information.

The Entrepreneurial: Lunch & Learn 2024 was an important starting point for a new generation of entrepreneurial scientists, filled with learning and inspiration to encourage students to explore the different career possibilities available even for those from an academic environment.
