August 7, 2023 LIF Empreende Program: Promoting Photonics from Academy to Market
The LIF Empreende Program, an essential part of the 2nd Workshop Photonic Industry and Entrepreneurship, is promoted by LIF-UNICAMP and aims to foster the creation of new companies based on scientific research results in the photonics field.

The creators believe that the technology contained within laboratory archives should be returned to society and, at the same time, enable the development of new skills among the academy members. To facilitate the commercialization path of these technologies, additional abilities beyond academics are required, such as market knowledge, soft skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
The Program promotes a competition in which the best presented business model will acquire a R$4.000,00 prize, one classification certificate, and an exclusive Business Mentoring plan with Baita Aceleradora. In addition to the professional jury, there will be a People’s Choice category, assigning a classification certificate for the winning model.
To ensure a fair evaluation of the business models presented, LIF Empreende will offer training, mentorships, and lectures given by experts, as well as provide some informal spaces for networking with colleagues and invited companies. The Program begins its activities on August 23rd. Registrations are free and open from July 17th to August 15th.
