Lucas Heitzmann Gabrielli

Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Campinas

Professor Gabrielli graduated Magna cum Laude in Electronics Engineering from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology in 2006, and, after a short period at the Wehrner von Braun Center for Advanced Research, received his Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2008. He pursued his PhD in Integrated Optics in 2012 as a member of the Lipson Nanophotonics Group at Cornell University. After one year as a Postdoc at Prof. Figueroa’s Applied and Computational Electromagnetism Group, Lucas joined the University of Campinas as Assistant Professor in 2013. He was Associate Director of the Center for Semiconductor Components and Nanotechnologies at UNICAMP between 2016 and 2019, and Head of the Communications Department at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering between 2019 and 2021. His main research activities are in the field of integrated optics for communications, imaging and sensing.
